Review of Pension IreneDuring our recent family trip to Sougia, we chose Pension Irene as our base. While not luxurious, it provided a comfortable stay for my wife and our two daughters. The pension is conveniently located near the beach, and there's a delightful bakery just steps away for fresh pastries, a convenient option since breakfast isn't provided. Our first-floor room, which boasted a small balcony, offered a fantastic spot for people-watching-a hit with our children. We appreciated the kitchenette, allowing us to prepare light meals, essential when travelling with kids. The proprietors were friendly and attentive, ensuring we felt welcome, despite their limited English. While the bathroom was a bit dated and cleanliness could be improved, the staff promptly addressed any concerns we raised. Pension Irene serves as a zero-frills yet practical option for families in search of adventure in the stunning landscapes of Western Crete.
